Internal Customers can be more important than External Customers. This is particularly true when you need to get something done. What precisely have you done lately for your all-important 'portfolio' of Internal Customers? Measure it. Track it. Obsess on it. Every day.
There are a hundred twists to it:
- Keep internal customers 'over' in-formed. Go out of your way to put them on your team as 'in-the-loop insiders.
- TAke internal customers to lunch.
- Give them 'face time' with your external customers.
- After a big success, pass out rewards commemorating the success.
- If you're the Big Boss, plan a 'sales' gala for top internal staff performers.
